Hope everyone is well.
I was writing this during ing flight back to Japan.
Staying in Singapore for only five days,
I enjoyed my whirlwind schedule.
I couldn’t help feeling nostalgic
thinking about
how I used to fly here and there every month.
For the past two years,
I have been going to the gym.
My condition seems to have gotten stronger.
No more back pain, flying is not a problem.
I am considering resuming golf too.
Condition OK! No Way to Retire from Work.
I am now at an age of retiring in Japan.
Some of my old classmates sought advice from me.
As for me, I have no such thoughts at all.
What will I do if I retire?
What kind of life will I have?
I can’t imagine it.
13 years in Singapore
13 years had passed since I moved to Singapore.
I have nothing to complain about.
However, what had I been doing for the last 3 years out of the 13 years?
Living in a narrow world of a 2km radius
during COVID was the reality.
My personality has made me want to get out more.
I have decided to reconsider where to go and where to live from now on.
Let me share my upcoming plans more specifically.
Destinations & Business Plans
Singapore
My business remains the same.
Though, I decided to move to the East Coast area.
My dog Sora will enjoy the condition, walking by the beach.
Switzerland
Living in Switzerland for a certain period is one of my plans.
Prop up and strengthening the fund business
in Switzerland and other businesses in Bulgaria are the main purpose.
They have beautiful nature, and great food too.
Please visit me there.
Vietnam
I have a business that a friend has been asking me to join.
Vietnam is a fast-growing emerging country.
I am sure we will face a lot of issues and problems to solve.
But I would like to tackle it in earnest.
Japan
The only way for Japan to revive and grow further
is to increase the productivity of companies and individuals.
I believe my overseas experiences would be of some help
to starting a new business in Japan.
Plans×condition is perfectly OK!
Somehow, I ended up doing a job
that connects me overseas so much.
I have made wide-ranging business partners
and friends already.
It would be a shame to do nothing.
Market condition Spring 2023
Weakening Yen and its two reasons and condition
The Yen has been appreciating since the of end 2022.
It has dropped to 150 J 130YEN atENat one point. It has appreciated by around 13%. This number is certainly true, however… In the real economy, the Yen is still weakening.
How could we say so?
1. Growth potential and inflation in other countries
Firstly, the growth potential and inflatwas seenseen in other countries
are the reason for the weakening Yen.
The gap between the U.S. and Japan is still widening.
Although a recession is expected in the U.S.,
its economic condition is continuing to grow after a temporary Covid pandemic.
Inflation came in and price levels in other countries have been rising at a tremendous pace.
We often see charts showing the prices had settled down recently.
Additionally,
it had settled down to a high level.
People who keep JPY will surely realize the weakness of Yen if they visit the mainland U.S. or Hawaii now.
When we analyze the actual market,
the buy-and-hold dollar positions
that had been held since last October
have almost been liquidated in the process of USD/JPY decline.
In other words,
the market is waiting for the next trend to arrive.
2. The growing trade deficit in Japan
Secondly, the growing trade deficit in Japan
is the reason for the weakening of the Yen.
This situation & condition will probably continue for a while.
If this is the case,
we believe that
the dollar will be supported by real demand buying the dollar.
It will be stronger as U.S. interest rates remain high.
With the change of the BOJ governor to Mr. Ueda,
the YCC may be revised or terminated.
In such a case,
we assume the yen to appreciate
to around 125 yen and the dollar weakened.
Although we will probably see a strong dollar for some time to come.
