My Triangle Life Zone
The world of my everyday life in Singapore is pretty much the same.
I am having a cozy and stable life which all completes within my triangle life zone : Home, office, and Don Don Donki. It is too stabled that I sometimes feel my past life, flying everywhere around the world twice a month to have meetings and dinners, was just a dream.
Recently, part of the European countries had begun announcing ‘’vaccine passport’’, allowing their citizens to use proof of vaccination to travel once again. If such rules come into force, it will directly affect my work and therefore had my first dose of vaccine in Singapore the other day.
On the one hand, I cannot wait to fly around the world like I used to, but on the other hand, I have a mixed feeling that it will never be completely the same as it used to be.
Booming is Just Around the Corner
Looking at the situation in the world, there is a fact that where vaccine uptake is progressing quickly, the economy is recovering rapidly. Comparing the number of cases and the number of deaths related to Covid 19, I believe that Japan is at an excellent level with considerably fewer cases.
What will happen if vaccination progress in Japan? With two shots, People will be free from restrictions. At least, domestic travel business will probably recover rapidly. If the Japanese government subsidy encourage people once again with Go-To-Travel campaign, we will see an explosion of users. The service industry, including restaurants, will also be quite active. Nowadays, you cannot dine at nice restaurants in Singapore without any reservation. Of course, something similar to this would happen in Japan, too.
Covid 19 situation in Japan is not good at the moment. Besides, it has a gloomy image. However, we see articles saying ‘’According to the government’s announcement, we are on track to receive the additional supply of vaccine needed for the target population in Japan by September.’’ Thus, it is normal to expect some positive results in September or so (four more months to go). If we analyze the current situation and forecast six months from now, I think we will see some surprising growth in economy, corporate performances, and other data.
What Comes Next ?
On the other hand, we cannot only focus on our bright future story ahead us since it is hard to say living and working environment will not be the same as before. Traveling overseas several times a year for business may become old fashioned style of work.
In this environment with Covid-19, the way we live and work has changed a lot. People have become accustomed to this new life. Many had made the abrupt shift and improvement in working from home. They even created new ways of enjoying entertainments.
What happens after the rebound boom at the end of the year and early next year?
It is important to respond to the structurally changed business and market environment.
I will still be in Singapore.
