post-COVID environment was amazing. I came back to Japan from Europe last week. I met various troubles during the biz trip.
What kind of problems?
Russo-Ukrainian war started just after my arrival in Europe.
Delay in connecting flights due to snow
Missing luggage at the airport
Forgot to take off my wallet from the security box
Problem solving during the trip
These happenings themselves were exciting and stimulated me. Moreover, I felt my spirits rising after solving these problems.
We have always stayed home for the past 2 years. We repeat same life everyday. In a sense, time went by without feeling any risk.
However, I was sure my brain was looking for stimulations. We desire post-COVID.
Humans Look for Stimulation
”INSTA-BRAIN” by Anders Hansen
During the trip, I read a book. The book explains as below.
We are always…
looking out for food. Avoid being eaten by lions. Have lived in groups of around 150 people. Actively communicating in order to survive in such groups.
These things are embedded in our DNA and are inherently what we look for.
COVID Pandemic has forcibly trapped us into an environment without the stimulation that humans seek for.
post - COVID in Europe Mar 2022
Who care about COVID?
Now in Europe, it is completely post -COVID. Who care about COVID? I would be embarrassed to wear a mask. Planes within Europe are almost full (mask required). People take is as an ordinary cold.
Future oriented conversation
The economy is moving. I visited financial institutions including private banks. All meetings were normal without topics regarding COVID. We talked about the market and business as usual.
“What’s going to happen now?” ”What are your plans for the future?”
Most of the time, the conversation is future oriented.
Russia-Ukraine War Effect
We are looking calmly toward the situation in Russia-Ukraine war. I got the impression that people in Europe are looking at the situation as a third country.
According to the EU decision, Bulgaria announced to accept 20,000 refugees. My business partner also plans to supply real estate (residential housing).
Every country is moving for its own interests
Put simply, Russia should be blamed for invading Ukraine. However, every country is moving for its own interests.
Not even experts can accurately read the war outcome.
My business partner took me to a Bulgarianprivate resort during the biz trip. Most of the rooms were owned by Russians. Russians were toasting champagnes at the breakfast table. I couldn’t help feeling strange and uncomfortable.
Desire post war world
Thanks to Social Networking Service
What is different from the past wars? Thanks to SNS development, we are able to obtain information as if it were being broadcast live. Some of them are strategically transmitted. This was the reality of the situation.
Ukraine aware ground war through SNS information. This SNS tool helps delay the Russian invasion. However, it means the possibility of air attacks increases.
Strong voices around the world
People express their condemnation of the war through SNS. They got stronger in post -COVID environment.
Hope the voices will influence the ceasefire negotiations. Wish a post-war reaches us right away.
