I was in Europe this summer both for work and holiday purposes.
2 weeks of Europe stay with hand luggage only
I went around 4 European countries within 2 weeks.
Hearing that the baggage operations at the airports were overcrowded due to surge in post-pandamic travels and employment issues, I had flown with hand luggage only.
Thanks to the melting hot summer, there was no problem putting light clothing in hand luggage.

Ibiza, Spain
First 3 days of the travel started in Ibiza as a holiday.
A noisy place with young people was my image.
But it was different from what I had imagined.
Clear blue sea.
Historical structures.
Peaceful atmosphere.
Delicious food.
About a half hour drive from the central city of Ibiza brought us to the famous clubbing space Amnesia.
Now I understand why a noisy place is located a bit far away. You might feel a bit strange of me visiting such a place at my age.
However, what I always have in mind is, ‘’Memories are more precious than possessions. Happiness is only found in memories.’’
Ranked in the top 10 DJs.
It was definitely an event worth going to, as Steve Aoki and Timmy Trumpet were to be DJs for this event.
Both of them are consistently ranked in the top 10 DJs. They earn billions of yen a year by flying around 300 stages in their private jets.
The capacity of Amnesia, which is said to hold 5,000 people, was packed and full.
I was simply amazed at their talents as an entertainer and direction that could entertain and make so many people happy in a moment.
It is worth going there at least once.
Expect to pay around €50 for most parties, depending on the month.
The upper levels of Amnesia are VIP, providing an amazing view of the revelry below.
Prices are around €3000 + drinks (bottles). If you go together with several people, I felt the cost performance is not that bad.
Pleasant Surprise
During the stay at Amnesia, we had a pleasant surprise.
Can you believe Steve Aoki came to visit our room.
I noticed later that performers’ waiting rooms were right behind our room.
Steve came out to check out the floors before his performance.
His parents are both Japanese.
His father is an outstanding business person, Hiroaki Aoki who was former wrestler, founder of the teppanyaki restaurant chain Benihana, and also adventurer.
I tried to speak to Steve in Japanese, but he did not understand the language. We had fun taking photos and shooting video.
As one would expect from a man with a talent for entertaining people, we had a happy time.

Baden Spa in Switerland
The days before returning to Singapore, we decided to go to a hot spring resort in Switzerland for a holiday.
We found a spa town called Baden on web.
This name recalled me of fake ‘’Baden spa’’ near my parents’ place in Fukushima.
Only a 30-minute train ride, we were in a quiet spa town.
The actual hot spring we visited was a modern building, like a public bathhouse in Japan.
Swimming pools and various types of baths welcomed us.
They were all real hot spring water. Half day of stress-free, lazy relaxation with a view of the mountains was fantastic.
Visit interesting places that comes to my mind during my stay in Europe is my routine.
This time, it was first in Ibiza, Spain and the end in Baden, Switzerland.
Sometimes it fell short of my expectations and feel a bit waste of time.
Though, they overall turn out to be a good memory after all.
Memories are more precious than possessions.
Happiness is only found in memories.
This is what I always have in mind.
Let’s visit together for both work and holiday!
